Stories of Learning and Hope

Holy Taco & Mexi Eats Launches Food Truck with ISSofBC’s Support

We are thrilled to announce a milestone for Holy Taco & Mexi Eats with the launch of their new food truck in 2024. This achievement is the culmination of Ileana and Bradley’s dedication and the invaluable support they received from ISSofBC’s Ignite program. Starting from a humble food stand, their journey to owning a food truck exemplifies perseverance and entrepreneurial spirit.

The transition from a food stand to a food truck has been significant for Ileana and Bradley, marking a leap forward in their business journey. “In the beginning, I remember I felt afraid and nervous of reaching out to people to sell my product. Even though I always put those feelings on the side and kept pushing myself. (…) It’s been 2 years already running the business with the food stand and 2 months running the business with the food truck. It has been a big jump as the setup and tear down for us is way easier,” notes Ileana. “This business is a family-run business as my partner is my husband, Bradley McFadden, so we had put a lot of time into it and a lot of hard work. We have learned many things from mentors, classmates, ISSofBC, and many other people, but have also learned a lot from our own mistakes. Everything during this journey is a valuable lesson that reminds us that we never have to stop learning about business and life.”

“Sometimes it is hard to believe that we are the owners and the founders of such a great company that we’ve created, Holy Taco. To grow you have to start with baby steps, as time passes you don’t realize how quickly you are growing. Nowadays, we recognize our own work that made us what we are, we try to celebrate every small or big achievement in the company and in our life.”

The grand opening of their food truck was a momentous occasion, attended by loyal customers, entrepreneurs, and community members alike. “The Grand Opening meant a lot to us,” says Ileana. “Many loyal customers from all over the mainland showed up. ISSofBC entrepreneurs were there to support us as well as family and friends that never let us down. It was amazing bringing everyone together.”

The core mission of Holy Taco & Mexi Eats is to provide quality, healthy, and delicious food while fostering a sense of community. “No matter what race you are, what color you are, what past you are coming from, here we are to support our community in any way that we can.”

“We have no words to express how grateful we are to be part of this community, and we are more than happy to share more details to anyone that wants to get on board on the entrepreneur journey.”
