Program description
B-Hired is a free job search and skills training program for young newcomers (16 – 29 years old) who want to start their careers in British Columbia (BC). The program is delivered in 4 phases: employability skills workshops, short-term occupational skills training, job search support, and ongoing follow-up for 12 weeks after graduation.
Course summary:

Why join B-Hired?
- Are between 16 and 29 years old
- Are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person legally entitled to work in Canada
- Live in British Columbia: Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Richmond, Surrey, Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, and Squamish;
- Are unemployed or precariously* employed
- Are not receiving similar financial support from another provincial or government labour market program
- Have intermediate to advanced English skills (minimum Canadian Language Benchmark 5+).
* “Precariously employed” refers to individuals who are not unemployed but work in unstable or unsustainable conditions, such as irregular hours, unreliable pay, or earnings that don’t support basic needs. It also includes those in low-paying jobs, at risk of job loss due to automation, working below their skill level without advancement prospects, or those with just cause for leaving their job.
