ISSofBC’s Skills Connect for Immigrants Program and Employer Solutions hosted a successful joint industry event yesterday sharing valuable information on how to fastrack foreign credential recognition and the different career opportunities inside the engineering and manufacturing sector.
“It was a full house but all clients were able to talk to the speakers and exchange business cards, some of them submitted resumes, and four clients also had a chance to be interviewed on the spot,” said Nicole Zou, ISSofBC Employee Relations Specialist for Employer Solutions.
This is part of the Skills Connect monthly Industry Panel Series where newcomers and jobseekers are given a chance to meet and ask questions directly to the licensing bodies and employers.
Caroline Westra from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (APEGBC), Geoff Sale from the Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of BC (ATTBC) and Art Fabian of Starline Architectural Windows Ltd were the key panelists of the event.
