New name and look for former International Studies Division

ISSofBC’s former International Studies division unveiled a new name and look early July to better represent the student body and create a fresh brand to reflect the programs offered.

The new operating name as of July 1 is ISS Language & Career College of BC (LCC).

LCC Division Manager Bonnie So said staff are excited about the new name and look. “The changes better represent our student population as we don’t just have international students attending. 25 percent of our student body are immigrants to Canada,” Bonnie said.

Despite the revamped look, the name change does not affect the courses offered or registration process. Students can continue to count on the same professional, quality service, she said.

This includes the LCC’s continued accreditation with the Private Career Training Institutions Agency (PCTIA) and Languages Canada. Both regulatory bodies, which set education standards for private schools, are impressed with LCC’s programs and procedures after a recent audit.

In 2012, 2,200 students from around the world attended LCC courses and programs with a teaching staff of 30.

LCC staff plan to have all printed material and content changes with the new name and look completed by the end of August.

LCC is located at 333 Terminal Avenue in Vancouver.

The new LCC website will be launched later this month.
