Program Description
Skills Hub is a free program designed to support you build professional skills in Canada. You’ll join specialised job and skills training, career counseling, and work in group workshops to learn how to prepare for job applications and interviews in BC.
Additionally, Skills Hub provides mentorship, mental health resources, and (limited) childcare support to reduce barriers. You’ll gain essential skills and connections through Skills Hub to help you succeed in the BC labor market.

- Career Readiness: Gain job search skills through resume writing, networking, and interview preparation workshops.
- Personalized Support: Receive one-on-one career counseling and a customized training plan.
- Employer Connections: Access job search assistance and connect with potential employers.
What You’ll Get from Skills Hub
Skills Hub offers many benefits to you and other newcomers facing multiple barriers so that you can build the skills needed for the BC labor market.
These benefits include:
- Are facing challenges such as a lack of skills or low English proficiency.
- Are unemployed or have unstable employment.
- Are a permanent resident, Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) holder, international student graduate with an open work permit, refugee with an open work permit, Naturalised Canadian Citizens or Open Work Permit holders.
- Are not receiving financial support from another government-funded program.
- Have a minimum Canadian language benchmark* (CLB 4) (beginner to intermediate English proficiency).
*The Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) is a system used in Canada to measure how well you understand and use English. It has 12 levels, from beginner to advanced. These levels show your progress as you improve your English skills over time. This system helps schools and programs identify your current level and what you need to learn next.
