Yes, there is a maximum loan amount you can request, which varies depending on the type of training program you choose. Unfortunately, Global Talent Loans do not cover language training programs. However, ISSofBC offers other resources and programs to support language learning for newcomers. Please visit LINC Language Program for more information
No, Global Talent Loans are specifically designed for newcomers who have completed post-secondary education outside Canada. International students studying in Canada are not eligible for this loan program. However, our team can refer you to other ISSofBC programs that may be available.
The Global Talent Loans program accepts applications on an ongoing basis, with no specific deadline. However, we recommend applying as soon as you identify an eligible training program to ensure a timely review and processing of your loan request. Interest Rates
We help you to access low-cost loan funding from $1,000 to $30,000 to advance your career in Canada.
- Low interest: Prime + 0% (for the most up-to-date prime rate, please look at Vancity’s Prime Rate)
- No early repayment penalties to save your interest cost
- Multiple loans available
- Loan approval within 5-7 business days
Loans can help cover the costs of:
- Evaluation of credentials
- Short-term training (less than 2 years)
- Examination fees
- Membership fees
- Books and course materials (including laptop and software for training)
- Other uses to help you in your career goals
