Eligibility

Priority is given to newcomers who have been in Canada for five (5) years or less.

  • Permanent residents.
  • Individuals who may have been selected to become permanent residents, and who have been informed by a letter from IRCC.
  • Protected Person as defined in S.95 of Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA).
  • Live-in caregivers or Temporary Foreign Workers (only in Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, and Surrey)
  • Naturalized Canadian citizen (only available in Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, and Surrey)

Languages

Drop-in as well as appointment-based services are available in Spanish, Farsi, Dari, Arabic, Swahili, French, and English.

What We Do

  • Provide services in your local community.
  • Provide information on government systems (eg health and education services), government rights and responsibilities as well as community connections.

  • Confidential support to help you and your family adjust to living in Canada.
  • Connect you to services and support in your local community.

  • Develop a settlement plan to meet your short- and long- term needs.
  • Help you gain confidence.

Services include:

  • Meeting with Settlement Worker
  • Services in English or your first language

  • Group Workshops
  • Support to help you access other services (eg childcare and transportation)

  • Connections to other programs and services
