If you’re a newcomer with professional experience but struggling to find work, Career Paths can help you re-align your profession to a career in BC by focusing services to your education, training and experience in:

Regulated occupations requiring an educational certificate and experience

Unregulated professions or alternative careers not requiring a license

Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants:

  • provides self-paced, flexible services
  • provides access to funded skills training and upgrading
  • helps you gain Canadian work experience
  • connects you with a dynamic support system and an expert team of Career Strategists, Resource Advisors, and Employer Relations Specialists.

Eligibility

  • A resident of Vancouver, Cariboo North regions, Surrey, Burnaby, or New Westminster

  • Permanent resident within last 10 years

  • Protected Persons

  • One (1) year of pre-arrival experience in regulated occupations, and two (2) pre-arrival experience in unregulated occupations (one year if you are 19-30 years of age)

  • Minimum CLB 6 for regulated professions

  • Minimum CLB 5 for unregulated professions

  • Pre-arrival experience

  • Underemployed and unemployed
