After years of supporting newcomers as they enter the Canadian workforce, the Skills Hub program will officially wrap up on 3月 31. As of now, the program is no longer accepting new clients.

Skills Hub has played an important role in supporting newcomers in building confidence, developing job-search skills, and successfully entering the labour market.

While the program is ending, meaningful employment support continues through other ISSofBC career services.

Alternative employment programs for eligible clients

Eligible former Skills Hub clients may benefit from the following programs:

Clients are also encouraged to explore current employment supports and resources by visiting the Find Work page on the ISSofBC website.

These programs continue the mission of helping newcomers prepare for, find, and succeed in meaningful employment across British Columbia.

A Skills Hub Success Story

I was facing multiple complex situations, as many newcomers do. Among them, the job search was particularly challenging. I lacked knowledge of the local job market and encountered several obstacles in my preparation, including navigating hiring processes. The ISSofBC Skills Hub program provided me with comprehensive and effective preparation to face these challenges in the job market. I learned how to apply for jobs, structure a strong resume, prepare for interviews, and follow up on applications. Today, I’m working in two positions where I feel very satisfied, and I’m truly grateful to the program for preparing me during this crucial stage of entering the Canadian job market as a newcomer.

With gratitude to the Skills Hub team

As the program concludes, we extend our sincere thanks to Program Manager Bita Firouzian and her dedicated team. Their commitment, expertise, and care have helped make Skills Hub clients job-ready and have truly changed lives.

The legacy of Skills Hub lives on through the success of its participants and the continued work of ISSofBC in supporting newcomers across the province.
