Networking event offers insight into tech sector

Newcomers to Canada network among engineering and technology professionals at ISSofBC's Building Bridges event at the Vancouver Public Library.

Over 150 newcomers took their first steps to rebuilding careers in Canada thanks to a full-day networking and learning event geared towards immigrant engineering and technology professionals.

Building Bridges, March 23 at the Vancouver Public Library, gathered numerous representatives from regulatory bodies, employers, and membership organizations to share valuable information on entering the job market, job search strategies and services available to assist participants with their career goals.

The event also provided a unique opportunity for participants to network with other professionals and connect with ISSofBC staff from many employment programs including Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants and Global Talent Loan.

Thank you to the Association of Chinese-Canadian Engineering Professionals and Technologists (ACCEPT), Iranian Engineers of BC Association (IEBCA), Society of Punjabi Engineers and Technicians of BC (SPEAT), Skilled Immigrant InfoCentre, and the Vancouver Public Library for the amazing collaboration in hosting this event.
