LINC students celebrate Canada Day at picnic

Tri-Cities held the 5th annual LINC Picnic in Celebration of Canada Day at Blue Mountain Park in Coquitlam with more than 500 LINC students and their families, teachers and coordinators  (from ISSofBC, SD43 Continuing Education, SUCCESS, Douglas College and SHARE Family Services).

The good, old-fashioned family picnic event came complete with activities and games, an aboriginal welcome, the singing of Oh Canada, a costume parade for both children and adults, and of course, a potluck lunch.

The event also included very special guests, MP Port Moody-Coquitlam Fin Donnelly, MLA Port Moody-Coquitlam Linda Reimer, MLA Coquitlam-Maillardville Selina Robinson, and Port Moody City Mayor Mike Clay.

ISSofBC Tri-Cities was well-represented by:

  • LINC Teachers – Olivia Kanna, Puja Kullar, Neil Rankin, Roz Hart, Wellington Reynoso, Gayane Petrosyan, Shehnaz Rahman, and Natalie Chang
  • LINC Instructional Coordinator – Claire Pinkett
  • Volunteer Connections Coordinator – Elsie Decena
