Childcare students sang Jingle Bells with the help of parents and staff at ISSofBC Terminal last Friday to help Santa Claus find his way to their afternoon Christmas party.
The celebration, attended by over 25 children, parents and staff, is an annual holiday season event where students have the opportunity to sing, make arts and crafts and enjoy lunch together with parents.
During the celebration, held this year in a LINC classroom, Santa Claus also made a surprise early Christmas visit to the children and gave each of them a special gift.
“I was very honoured to have the opportunity to meet the amazing staff, students and children at ISSofBC. It was a great experience and I can’t wait to come back again next year. Please don’t forget the milk and cookies for Santa next time,” said Santa Claus during the party.
In addition the surprise visitor, students sang Jingle Bells, Wish you a Merry Christmas, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and ABC to parents and staff.
“It went really well this year. It was a bit different as we really wanted to recognize the holiday but also focus on what the children wanted to do. So we continued our regular monthly program in the Childcare Centre and hosted the party in a classroom,” said Ana Delgado Early Childhood Educator Supervisor for the ISSofBC Vancouver Child Care Centre.
For most students, this was their first time ever to meet Santa Claus and join in a Christmas celebration.
