ISSofBC Career Services’ clients learned about hiring practices and benefits of working or volunteering with a number of Canada’s leading companies and local non-profits during Career Talk in Metrotown Wednesday.
Hiring managers from various industries including the Employment and Diversity Coordinator from Safeway, Field Personnel Advisor of PCL Construction Leaders and Director of External Relations of the Surrey Food Bank shared tips and insights to assist clients in their job searches.
“Career Talk is a great way for our clients to meet with potential employers and industry leaders who are on the ground making decisions on hiring. By hearing what the employers are looking for from the candidates, our clients can prepare themselves better,” said Esther Jung, ISSofBC Employer Relations Specialist for Job Options BC.
In addition to the talk, clients were able to ask questions about current job opportunities, introduce themselves to the employers and network with program participants from different locations.
ISSofBC Job Options for Vancouver Career Centre, Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House, Surrey and Port Coquitlam locations held the Career Talk Wednesday, February 12 in the Metrotown Community Room.
