Over 20 service providers from public and non-profit sectors including ISSofBC’s Skills Connect for Immigrants Program participated in the expo hosted by Surrey North Member of Parliament Jasbir Sandhu.
The expo, held at the City Centre Library in Surrey on Saturday, October 19, included attendees such as the Surrey RCMP, the City of Surrey By-law and Licensing, DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and ISSofBC.
“ISSofBC staff welcomed new members of the community, families and connected with many different service providers in Surrey,” said Mary Tecson, Assistant Manager for the Skills Connect for Immigrants program.
Several useful workshops were also held as part of the Expo including ‘How to apply for a NEXUS Pass’ by the CBSA, ‘Crime Prevention’ by the Surrey RCMP, ‘Income Programs and Resources’ by Sources BC, and ‘How to apply for a Temporary Resident Visa’ by MP Jasbir Sandhu.
