How ISSofBC helped a newcomer find a job in Canada: a story of compassionate support and quick employment

Suha Mohamed Salih’s journey in Canada was driven by her urgent need to support her family back home. Due to her limited English proficiency, Suha required special assistance. Recognizing her unique situation, ISSofBC welcomed her into their program with humanitarian aid in mind.

An Employer Relations Specialist (ERS) who spoke Suha’s language met with her to discuss her employment goals and situation. Understanding her immediate needs, the ERS contacted a hotel employer seeking housekeeping staff. An interview was arranged within a week, and Suha was offered a position within two weeks.

This exceptional case required extensive support for Suha’s onboarding and necessary documentation, which ISSofBC provided. Suha’s story highlights how ISSofBC’s compassionate support can help newcomers find jobs quickly and effectively.
