ISSofBC’s LINC program uses current technology in the classroom to improve language learning.
LINC classes at ISSofBC have:
Interactive Smart TVs
Smart TVs allow:
- teachers to easily access audio and visual resources and to manipulate text materials to bring learning to life
- students to interact directly with materials on the smart TV, or by using their smart phones, to make classes dynamic and fun
Live Online Learning in Microsoft Teams
Learn and practice important computer skills for accessing services and resources in Canada
- Learn English live online with your teacher every Wednesday from the comfort of your home
- Get support from the LINC team to get online and build your digital skills
- Access a laptop onsite to participate if you need
Self-Paced Online Learning Using Moodle
Some ISSofBC LINC classes at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 4 to 8 include access to the ISSofBC Online Learning Site:
- Progress more quickly toward your goals by taking one extra self-paced online PBLA lesson each month
- Learn and be assessed in listening, reading and writing – get more artefacts for your PBLA language portfolio
- Get feedback on your online work from your teacher
Extra Practice Online Learning Through Janis’s ESL Website
LINC CLB 1 to 6 students get extra English practice using the internationally-known made-in-ISSofBC Janis’s ESL Website:
- videos and English language learning lessons on the monthly topics taught in class
- links to other useful ESL activities on the internet
ISSofBC LINC students receive a password to access additional online material and activities not available to the public!

Mobile Computer Labs
All ISSofBC LINC locations have mobile computer labs so students can
- practice English using the latest language learning software
- at higher levels, do research, create presentations and write assignments
