LINC stands for Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada. The LINC program is one of the immigrant settlement services provided through the National Settlement Program. It is funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and is free to adult newcomers.

LINC teaches English to all skill levels, so you do not need to know any English to join.

You can take LINC if you are a Permanent resident and 17 years or older.

Below are the steps to register:

Step 1 – Complete an Assessment

Before you can enroll in a LINC program, you must complete a language assessment.

Photocopy your relevant Canadian Status Document (see instructions in LINC brochure and application form).

Bring the form and relevant documents to the Assessment and Referral Centre listed below.

People living in Vancouver, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Richmond, South Delta, Burnaby or New Westminster, apply to:
