Well renowned and growing design/build commercial and residential landscape Company has
openings for landscape installation workers. The function of the Landscape Laborer will be to
assist foreman and lead hands in the timely completion of landscaping installation projects.
Preference will be given to those with the most knowledge, and applicable experience willing to
train people who show a good attitude and aptitude for the work. International workers with work
VISAS are welcome (Min 1-2 month work commitment)
Job Summary:
Construction position with a focus on large residential and commercial construction sites
throughout the lower Mainland.
Landscape laborers must be able to handle physically demanding outdoor work conditions,
including but not limited to: shoveling dirt/gravel, moving pavers, wheel barrowing items back &
forth, digging trenches etc. Job requires ability to work with hand tools, small engine equipment,
and materials.
$14 – $17+ DOE. Paid weekly. Wage will be adjusted to reflect, work ethic, skills and abilities
after working evaluation. Extended benefits after 90 days. Employer sponsored RRSPs available.
Job Duties:
· Construct retaining walls, interlocking brick driveways, decks, fences, ornamental water
· Plant trees, shrubs, flowers
· Place and spread topsoil and other required materials
· Lay sod; grading (soil); and tree staking
· Move and transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, dollies and manual lifting
· Perform other manual duties as needed and maintain a clean work site
· Follow verbal directions from foreman/lead hand
· Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times as required
· Comply with all company policies and regulations
· Utilize, gas powered equipment, power tools, hand tools and other necessary equipment
to complete job tasks
· 6 months – 1 one year experience in labor landscape/construction industry
· Capable of operating equipment, hand and power tools in a safe and responsible
· Effective communication skills  must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels
and signs, report progress or issues to foreman/lead hand
· Speak and read basic communicational English
· Time management skills
· Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
· Steel toe work boots
· Ability to work responsibly both independently with little supervision, and as part of a
· Speak, read, and write English
· Reliable form of communication (phone/text/email)
Assets but not required:
· Valid BC driver license (Will be needed for advancement)
· Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment
· First Aid level one
· Fall Protection
Ability to read plans / blueprints
Completion of college, vocational, or technical training
Planting knowledge
· Managerial or leadership skills
Work Conditions:
· Ability to lift heavy loads repeatedly through an entire work shift
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Requires good manual dexterity
· Excellent stamina is required
· Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
· Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and
· Flexible working hours and occasional weekend work
· We pay weekly.
· Extended benefits are offered after 90 day probation period.
