When Oriane joined B-Hired, she was looking for more than advice on how to apply for jobs. She needed to understand the local job market, find the right opportunities, and start building professional connections in Vancouver.
One of those opportunities changed everything.
Through B-Hired, Oriane learned about a Francophone job fair and decided to attend. That decision eventually led to her current role as a Bilingual Contact Officer with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
But her experience with B-Hired went beyond one successful job fair.
Oriane also attended IT-related events recommended through the program, giving her opportunities to meet professionals and grow her network in Vancouver. Each experience helped her better understand the local job market and become more comfortable making professional connections.
Along the way, B-Hired’s coaching supported her in strengthening her job applications, preparing for interviews, and staying focused throughout her search.
For Oriane, the experience reinforced an important lesson for other newcomers beginning their careers in Canada: opportunities can come from unexpected places.
Today, Oriane is building her career at the Canada Revenue Agency — a journey that began with her willingness to walk through one more door.
