What We Offer

Below is a list of the Settlement and English language services available at our Richmond offices.

Please note: We are not a government agency. If you have questions about citizenship or immigration status, please refer to IRCC directly.

All-in-one services

We offer many services to support you to learn English and how to access Canadian public services. 
We provide these services in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese but we can arrange translators if required if you speak other languages.

For our English languages LINC classes, please call our Richmond office at 604-233-7077.

If you already have a Settlement Worker or Case Manager, contact them to schedule an appointment.

Yes, our LINC program offers a certificate of completion based on the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB). 

This certificate can be used as proof of language proficiency for citizenship applications.

We do not offer emergency services, so please, book an appointment by phone 604-233-7077 or email at debbie.ho@issbc.org to avoid long waits at our offices.

Yes, our programs are designed to support individuals with various statuses. Our settlement workers can guide you to the appropriate programs based on your needs.

– For newcomers who cannot access federally-funded programs, please visit BC Newcomer Services Program (BC NSP) | Find Work, Get Settled | Immigrant Services Society of BC (ISSof BC) (issbc.org)
– For refugee claimants and asylum seekers, please visit BC SAFE HAVEN Program | Find Work, Get Settled, Learn English | Immigrant Services Society of BC (ISSofBC) (issbc.org)
– For international students, our ISS Language and Career College of BC (LCC). offers high-quality English and coop work programs at affordable prices.  

Anyone except people on a visitor’s visa can volunteer with us, after passing an interview and obtaining a clear Criminal Record Check

The Richmond office provides preschool (for young children) for clients enrolled in the LINC program, running during class hours from 9:15 AM to 12:15 PM and 1:15 PM to 4:15 PM.

Our preschool (for children aged 2-5 years old) is available for clients who are enrolled in our English language LINC program.
LINC students can leave their children with our qualified Early Chidlcare Professional before class in both our morning (9:15 AM to 12:15 PM) and afternoon sessions (1:15 PM to 4:15 PM).

Our Richmond office is conveniently located near public transit near to the Landsdowne Centre. 
To come to our offices, take the Canada Line SkyTrain to Lansdowne Station. 
From there, it’s a 10-15 minute walk north on No. 3 Road, then left onto Alexandra Road. 
Alternatively, take bus 405 Cambie from Lansdowne Station at Bay 2 and get off at EB Alderbridge Way at Kwantlen Street, then walk west towards our office.
