We can provide our services in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Ukrainian, Russian, Farsi, and Korean. 
We can also provide translators for other languages. Please ask.

Our LINC program does not have on-site childcare.

However, our New Westminster office is close to four daycares/childcare centres within a 5km radius, please check on Google Maps to find suitable childcare.

No, our English language LINC program requires students to attend classes in-person from Monday to Thursday each week.

Classes are offered in the morning and evening, three days a week on-site/in-person on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and one day online on Wednesdays.

To remain in the program, students must attend classes regularly, in-person and online. 

Due to the high demand for our services, students who regularly miss classes will be unregistered from our classes.

Yes, the LINC program in New Westminster offers evening classes for our intermediate, CLB Levels 5 and 6 levels.

Classes in the evening are offered on-site/in-person on Tuesdays and Thursdays and online on Wednesdays.  

In addition, students must complete three hours of online classes weekly via Moodle, a specialized, open-source learning platform.

Yes, we can support you to find housing in BC.

Yes. Our Moving Ahead Program (MAP) case managers can provide interpretation support for community and government services, but not for medical and legal services.

No. MAP case managers cannot help to complete Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) forms.

However, our case managers can offer information and explanations to help you fill out the forms independently. 

ISSofBC staff are not allowed to use their vehicle, a client’s vehicle, or a taxi to accompany the client to any destination. 

ISSofBC staff are allowed to use public transportation and MAP offers accompaniment services that involve travelling with clients to collect documentation or register for Canadian public services. 

You can also sign up for British Columbia’s favourite car-sharing service, Evo, which allows you to travel around Metro Vancouver independently. As an Evo partner, ISSofBC clients get special rates and offers. 

Following the MAP Program Protocol, the MAP case manager can conduct home visits for urgent matters and exceptional circumstances. 

The frequency of visits depends on the client’s specific needs.

Yes, we assign different workers to each family member to ensure the best services and practices.

ISSofBC is not the processing authority for any visa applications in Canada. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) handles the processing of all the applications submitted to specific case processing centres.

Useful information about our New Westminster office

Our ISSofBC office is located on the 2nd floor of the Royal City Centre Mall. 

Our office is very close to the Columbia Skytrain station (a 6-minute drive, 28-minute walk, 13-minute bike ride or 25 mins on public transport from the station to the office).   

Clients can take the bus: 105 or 106 from Columbia Station and the 123 bus from New Westminster Station.

There is a large car park in the Mall. You do not have to pay for the first two hours.
