Job Summary:

This position at ISSofBC will play a critical role in accelerating the development and implementation of quality improvement processes, knowledge, and activities within the organization’s broad service portfolio. Working with leadership at all levels, the Senior Manager role will be a pivotal and influential position with the mandate to help drive forward practices to improve client outcomes. This work is a key strategic priority for ISSofBC, and as such we are seeking an experienced quality professional who can help us deliver on these goals.

The Senior Manager for Quality Assurance (QA) is responsible for supporting and overseeing key quality processes, systems, and initiatives within the organization to promote high standards of services and client well-being. Reporting to the organization’s two Program Directors and working with a range of executive and other organizational leaders, the Senior Manager for QA will help ensure compliance with external regulations and standards, as well as help identify internal opportunities for quality improvement and / or corrective actions.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the WorkBC Manager and Associate Program Director – WorkBC VCC, assists eligible job seekers who are employed or underemployed, to achieve labour market attachment by performing such activities as assessing employment readiness and eligibility, supporting client(s) to identify realistic employment options and develop realistic action plans, become job-ready, and successfully transition to sustainable employment.

The ISSofBC position will be working as part of a multi-agency team within the WorkBC VCC Catchment operated by Open Door Group to connect job seekers with progressive employment, training opportunities, and holistic supports.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the WorkBC Senior Manager and Program Manager – WorkBC Squamish, the Employment Resources Facilitator improves client employment readiness through referral and follow-up to community referral and through competency-based training. Employment Resources Facilitator support clients to obtain job placements by facilitating and supporting self-marketing job search activities, as well as facilitating employment-related workshops.

Job Summary:

The Case Manager provides individualized, on-line, or group employment and career counselling services. This position also facilitates the development of a realistic personal action plan for the employment or further training of the client, monitors clients’ progress, prepares and maintains prescribed reports on each client and assists in client recruitment, program marketing and project evaluation activities.

Job Summary:

Employer Relations Specialist (ERS) focuses on serving youth clients who require assistance in finding meaningful work. In addition to marketing job placement services to generate job leads and placements for unemployed clients that are consistent with ISSofBC policies and funder’s guidelines, the ERS also: develops and maintains a database network of resources and employers contacts to ensure availability of job leads for clients, provides job information and resources to clients, pre-screens clients and employers, conducts quality job matches and job referrals, provides placement-related coaching and support, and conducts follow-up activities with clients and employers.

Job Summary:

Instructs level appropriate Literacy – CLB 8 English skills to adult immigrant and refugee newcomers while increasing their understanding of Canadian local, social, workplace, and cultural norms. For long-term placements of two weeks or more, connects immigrants to the community through field trips and guest speakers and, with IC support determines student progress through portfolio-based language assessment

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manager – LINC Preschool, plans, prepares, and implements daily learning activities for children, (between 30 months and up to 5 years) who have English as a second language, by introducing curriculum and concepts that targets different areas of child development and focuses on age-appropriate readiness for kindergarten.  Provides open-ended explorations of materials, books, science experiments and other activities consistent with approved curriculum, which promote critical thinking, questioning and development of all cognitive areas. Assists in maintaining records of children’s progress, routines, and interests, and keep parents regularly informed about their child’s development. Observes signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and inform Manager and when appropriate to the parents. Ensures a safe environment is maintained at all times.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the LINC Manager, and under the direction of the Instructional Coordinator, instruct level-appropriate (CLB 3 & 4) skills-building English lessons to adult immigrant and refugee newcomers while increasing their understanding of Canadian local, social, workplace, and cultural norms. Connect immigrants to the community through field trips and guest speakers. Monitor student progress through the components of portfolio-based language assessments and provide feedback to students informally on an ongoing basis and formally through student progress reports and conferencing.
