Tens of thousands joined together for a two-kilometre walk Sunday, September 24 with the desire to move closer to a greater awareness, solidarity, and reconciliation among indigenous peoples and all Canadians.
ISSofBC staff, clients, friends and family were among the participants in the Walk for Reconciliation which followed a route from Queen Elizabeth Plaza downtown to Strathcona Park in Vancouver.
The event marked the end of BC’s annual Reconciliation Week — which honoured residential school survivors and addressed the work needed to meet goals established by Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
We were very honoured to be part of the walk supporting the spirit of ‘Namwayut – We are all one.
