ISSofBC celebrates HIPPY program graduates

Young students in the HIPPY program graduate at ISSofBC Welcome Centre- Surrey

Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY CORE) program celebrated the accomplishments of participating families with a graduation ceremony marking the closing of the program for this school year.

A total of 43 families and 47 children attended the graduation May 10 at ISSofBC Welcome Centre – Surrey, with many receiving certificates to acknowledge their accomplishments and completion of the program.

“It was incredible to see happy and proud faces of our HIPPY CORE families as they watched their children receive their certificates in the customized graduation gowns,” said Richa Karkee, HIPPY Manager at ISSofBC Welcome Centre – Surrey.

HIPPY CORE is an evidence-based program that works with families in the home to support parents, primarily mothers, in their critical role as their child’s first and most important teacher. As the foundational program of the Mothers Matter Centre, HIPPY Canada has transformed more than 40,000 lives nationwide.

“We would like to thank all the HIPPY CORE families for being part of the program and sharing their time and stories with us. We look forward to seeing the returning families in September and wish the best for the children who have completed the program and joining kindergarten this Fall,” said Richa.

ISSofBC offers the HIPPY CORE program in Burnaby, New Westminster, Surrey and Vancouver.
