Immigrant Connections Centres up in six new locations

Picture_501-IC

Immigrants needing access to information and resources to help them move forward in their settlement journey will soon have a few more places to get this help.

ISSofBC will set up self-serve resource centres in six additional ISSofBC locations in Metro Vancouver: Burnaby, Coquitlam, Langley, Port Coquitlam, Richmond and Vancouver (Drake).

The centres are co-located with ISSofBC services (either settlement, language training and/or employment services) and will be equipped with computers with internet access, telephones, printers, and copiers. The centres also feature a library of community and employment resources, including up-to-date information on programs, events and government-funded supports. These centres build on the success of the Immigrant Connections Centres located at ISSofBC’s head office on Terminal Avenue in Vancouver and at ISSofBC’s facility on Royal Avenue in New Westminster. Set up in May 2012, the fully-staffed Terminal Avenue centre serves over 600 clients monthly, providing referrals to programs and services within and outside of ISSofBC, as well as basic counseling support related to settlement and employment.

Stay tuned for more updates.
