ISSofBC Welcome Centre – Surrey, located at #301-10334 152A Street, is now providing settlement services and the Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants program for interested and eligible clients in Surrey, a community ISSofBC has served for many years.
These are the first among a broad array of services immigrants and refugees can access in the coming days as ISSofBC and its co-located partners firm up delivery arrangements at the new facility.
Settlement services that include counselling support in client’s language and community connections help newcomers adjust to life in Canada; HIPPY equips parents to teach their pre-school children at home; and Career Paths bridges internationally-trained professionals to careers that make use of their pre-arrival skills.
Also expected to be available soon at the centre are refugee claimant services, primary health care, trauma counselling, services for immigrant and refugee women, connections to Francophone resources and activities, and banking support.
The ISSofBC Welcome Centre – Surrey builds on the successful integrated service delivery model of the ISSofBC Welcome Centre in Vancouver where newcomers have streamlined access to services delivered by ISSofBC and co-located community partners. ISSofBC Welcome Centre in Vancouver opened in 2016 as the first facility of its kind in the world.
Ewa Karczewska, a highly-experienced ISSofBC manager, oversees the facility’s operations as general manager/community relations.
