Coquitlam celebrates Canada Day with help of 60 ISSofBC volunteers

ISSofBC volunteers wave flags on Canada Day

ISSofBC’s Coquitlam offices proudly participated in the City of Coquitlam’s annual Canada Day Celebration at Town Centre Park July 1. The free open-air festival opened at 12PM to the public and lasted into the night, concluding with fireworks over the lake.

Located in the park’s meadow, the ISSofBC table offered free games, trivia, face painting, prizes and arts and crafts in addition to information about settlement and employment programs offered at both Coquitlam offices.

This event was made possible by the dedication of our amazing 60 ISSofBC volunteers and 12 staff members who kindly contributed a total of 240 hours throughout the day.

Overall, the event was a great success and was thoroughly enjoyed by all – especially the children and families who were lining up all day to have their faces painted by our talented volunteers!
