What is GEW?
Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is the world’s largest annual celebration of entrepreneurship. It offers a valuable platform for networking, learning, and showcasing entrepreneurial efforts. This event connects a diverse audience at local, national, and international levels, promoting innovative ideas and businesses worldwide. This year, GEW will be celebrated from November 18th to 24th, under the theme “Entrepreneurship is for Everyone.”
Why is ISSofBC Celebrating GEW?
Immigrant Services Society of BC (ISSofBC) is a non-profit that welcomes and supports newcomers to settle in their communities, learn English, study, and find work in British Columbia (BC). Among our services, we assist newcomer entrepreneurs in starting and growing their businesses in British Columbia, and celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is an important part of our mission.
It allows us to showcase our services, highlight client successes, and strengthen our commitment to supporting newcomer entrepreneurs. Over the years, we have assisted hundreds of entrepreneurs, launching more than 50 small businesses by newcomers in the past two years alone. By participating in GEW, we raise awareness of the valuable contributions these entrepreneurs make to our community and emphasize our ongoing dedication to their growth and success.

Digital Marketing: Building and Maintaining Your Brand Presence

The interactive format, complemented by a PowerPoint presentation, will keep the session engaging and provide practical strategies and motivational insights for those seeking to overcome obstacles or explore entrepreneurship.

Demo Day: Small Business Showcase

The Demo Day – Small Business Showcase is a valuable opportunity for attendees, including entrepreneurs, aspiring business owners, and the public, to connect with and support local businesses in the community. Participants can explore a variety of products and services offered by entrepreneurs from ISSofBC’s Ignite and Business Quest programs. The event also features a motivational keynote speaker who will share insights and encouragement, providing practical advice and inspiration for attendees’ own entrepreneurial journeys.
