ISSofBC joins 150th Canada Day festivities-view celebration photos

Multicultural parades, picnics, new Canadian presentations and an O Canada sing along —ISSofBC  celebrated in numerous events across Metro Vancouver.

Maple Ridge

ISSofBC staff, clients and volunteers joined the Canada Day festivities July 1st at Memorial Peace Park in Maple Ridge offering family fun activities and highlighting Canada’s diversity by participating in the multicultural parade.

Over 30 ISSofBC volunteers joined the event including six LINC students who had their first volunteer experience.

To highlight Canada’s multicultural heritage, ISSofBC clients from India, Philippines, Afghanistan, Laos, and Vietnam wore their cultural attire and joined a walking parade with dancers from the Ridge Meadows Multicultural Society.

At the end of the parade new Canadians were warmly welcomed by Dan Ruimy, Member of Parliament for Pitt Meadows – Maple Ridge and received certificates to recognize their first Canada Day as citizens.

City of Coquitlam

ISSofBC in Coquitlam Celebrated Canada Day at the Town Centre Park with incredible weather, amazing volunteers and a welcoming community who gathered to celebrate Canada’s 150th.

70 volunteers and 7 staff members from ISSofBC joined the festivities throughout day offering none-stop activities from 11am to 8pm including face painting and multicultural games.

The ISSofBC booth saw a steady stream of kids, youth, adults and seniors engaging in the array of activities and connecting with staff.

City of Burnaby

13 staff and volunteers hosted a booth at Edmonds Plaza & Park 11-4pm offering family fun activities including crown making, bracelet making, and button making to celebrate Canada’s 150th.

The ISSofBC community team saw a steady stream of interested kids, adults and seniors throughout the day who enjoyed the activities and a chance to chat with staff about available programs and services.
