Syrian Refugee Settlement: One Year In

With the unprecedented number of Syrian refugee arrivals to BC within the past year, ISSofBC took the opportunity to mark their first year in Canada by documenting their early settlement experiences and outcomes.

Key findings to help the next wave of Syrian refugees settle in Canada are highlighted in a summary report, Syrian Refugee Operation to British Columbia: One Year In - A Roadmap to Integration and Citizenship, after one year of arrival to British Columbia in the hopes of impacting future policy and programs for refugees.

The process for the report was conducted through two separate consultation initiatives, one focused on close to 60 youth, the other a survey with over 300 Syrian GAR head of households who arrived between November 4, 2015 and February 28, 2016.
