ISSofBC staff challenged their fitness levels this month and joined the Dirty Dash, a mud run obstacle course held at the Thunderbird Show Park in Langley Saturday, July 12.
“The race is far from the typical obstacle races as there were no winners or losers. It was all purely for fun,” said Jennifer York, ISSofBC Manager of Job Options of BC.
The Dirty Dash includes trudging up mountains of sludge, overcoming uncompromising obstacles and wading in pits of mud.
ISSofBC camaraderie developed as the team helped each other climb over high fences and scramble up the ropes. In addition, the whole team held hands to cross ponds in support of non-swimmers in the group. Occasional mud balls were also thrown to keep everyone on their toes.
“Everyone had so much fun that there is talk to do another one next year, this time with more muddy results,” Jennifer said.
In addition to Jennifer, ISSofBC’s Nicole Zou, Sally Phung-Ip, Silvia Arreguin and family and friends participated in the event.
The Dirty Dash is a yearly summer event taking place in the US and Western Canada.
