The role:

Reporting to Senior Warehouse & Distribution Manager, the Warehouse Picker is responsible for keeping merchandise organized and ready, selects warehouse merchandise based on the purchase orders from stores and gets them ready to be distributed.

Major Responsibilities:

· Handle the inventory control and supply chains as a warehouse helper, shipping and receiving clerk or traffic coordinator

· Sort and organize merchandise so that it can be easily located

· Keep records of items received and damaged merchandise returned

· Tag and place stock inventory as it is received from vendors

· Maintain quality control standards by checking items as they come in

· Ensure the efficient receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of a wide range of goods including perishables, food, healthcare products, household items…etc

· Ensure warehouse & distribution productivity targets are met

· Ensure workplace health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock

· Ensure equipments are in good working condition

· Perform any ad hoc duties assigned by the superior as required

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:

· Possess Pallet Jack Class 3 certificate an asset

· Ability to lift > 50lbs

· Ability to work at night shifts from 3:00pm to 11:00 pm (and over time)

· Ability to receive and give written and verbal instructions in a clear manner

· Ability to stand for long periods of time and be able to bend and reach overhead

· Ability to work under deadline pressure as organizational skills are the key to finding and providing merchandise quickly
