The role
Reporting to the Assistant Kitchen Deli Department Head (Sushi Outlet) or his/her delegate, the Sushi
Outlet Production Assistant is responsible to make, fry, cut, pack, weigh, label and prepare various food
products for the Sushi Outlet (Sushi, Rolls, Sashimi, Teriyaki and/or others) in advance for customer to
choose from as well as to prepare appropriate type and quantity of food items based on orders received.
The position also needs to stock products onto the display cases in the sales area and display cooler,
provide good customer service to our customers by fulfilling their requests, and maintain inventory and
workplace cleanliness.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Greet customers by providing good customer service with smile, friendly enthusiasm; answer customers
2. Assist customers in selecting food products (Sushi, Rolls, Sashimi, Teriyaki and/or others) and provide
recommendations to them
3. Control product (Sushi, Rolls, Sashimi, Teriyaki and/or others) quality, freshness, inventory level and
4. Ensure product quality, food safety, freshness and ensure FIFO is strictly practiced within the department
5. Responsible to make, fry, cut, pack, weigh, label and prepare various food products (Sushi, Rolls, Sashimi,
Teriyaki and/or others) for customers to select, label them properly and display them in the display cases
6. Maintain workplace cleanliness by washing and maintain relevant work tools clean and well-kept, ensure
workplace safety
7. Keep product display full, attractive and neat, timely replenish inventory, if necessary
8. Follow procedures to verify and process expired food products and manage shrinkage
9. Receive products delivered, take customers orders
10. Ensure daily sales and other checklists are properly completed
11. Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
1. Flexible to work in shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evening hours and statutory holidays
2. Be prepared to stand for a long time and able to use work related tools in a safe manner
3. Possess knowledge and prior experience in making, frying, cutting, packing, weighing, labeling and
preparing various food products food products (Sushi, Rolls, Sashimi, Teriyaki and/or others) is preferred
4. Possess knowledge in workplace health & safety and food safety (Food Safe Certification is preferred)
5. Have a good understanding of food product (Sushi, Rolls, Sashimi, Teriyaki and/or others) making
techniques, tools & equipment relevant to the job
6. Good communication and customer service skills, good command in English
7. Possess some knowledge in food products, with relevant experience display, promotion and packaging
techniques is preferred
