How to stay safe in the snow

As it snows across Metro Vancouver, we have compiled a list of useful resources to keep you and your loved ones safe in the cold. Please stay safe out there!

General advice

City of Vancouver notice – Be careful when you go out. Wear appropriate warm clothing, including gloves and warm hats and shoes with good grip.

Vancouver Coastal Health – VCH has provided details on the medical and health risks from extreme cold such as frostbite and hypothermia, as well as their warning signs so you can get treated quickly.

Travel advice:

Expect delays to all public transport in the snow, especially early in the morning when snow plows haven’t been able to clear the roads.

ICBC Road Safety Advice – Learn some useful tips on how to drive safely in snowy and icy conditions.
