If you are a newcomer who has recently immigrated to Canada, you know that finding employment can be a long journey involving language classes, credential recognition and cultural adjustment. Skilled Internationally-Trained Professionals (ITPs), especially those from regulated occupations, spend a lot of their energy integrating.
A special free conference from ISSofBC, the Vancouver Public Library, and MAPLE 2.0, will bring together ITPs to hear inspiring stories about achieving success through alternative careers.
Recharge Your Career: Alternative Careers in Technology offers newcomers a chance to connect with local technology sector employers from Engineering, Information and Communications Technology and Life/Environmental Sciences. You’ll also participate in round table discussions with regulators, ITPs who found alternative careers in the tech sector and much more.
On Tuesday, October 11, join us to hear about innovative alternative career opportunities in B.C.’s growing tech sector.
This free event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Prepare to talk, listen, share ideas, ask questions and most of all, to be inspired and energized about permanent and temporary alternative career opportunities that are available.
You can learn more about alternative careers at ISSofBC’s IMPACT pages here: http://issbc.org/programs/career-services/alternative-careers-in-technology/.
Space is limited so please register as soon as possible at http://re-chargeyourcareer.eventbrite.ca.
