LINC classes start in Burnaby

ISSofBC has opened a new site near Metrotown providing Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) classes in addition to Settlement Services once a week.

The new office, located at 6140 McKercher Avenue, offers Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) morning and afternoon classes with teachers Kurt Munari and Sean Mullen in addition to five on-site childcare spots in the morning.

ISSofBC Settlement Services staff will also be available once a week providing multiple services at the new location.

“We have finally moved into our new Burnaby location. The teachers are smiling and students are excited. It is amazing to see the end result of this search,” said Eysa Alvarez ISSofBC LINC Site Manager.

The ISSofBC office is co-shared with Burnaby Family Life (BFL). BFL offers over 100 programs ranging from counselling to childcare.

The ISSofBC Burnaby office can be reached at BFL’s front desk line (604-659-2219).

“I also want to take the opportunity to thank New West and Burnaby staff who have been supportive and helpful in the process. Thank you all for your patience and understanding these past few weeks,” Eysa said.

  1. I am a teacher and currently working part time as an Orton-Gillingham tutor. I am interested in volunteering in the area of learning English and reading.
