ISSofBC participates in National Ethnocultural Advisory Committee

neac_1ISSofBC’s CEO Patricia Woroch attended the Correctional Service Canada’s National Ethnolocultural Advisory Committee (NEAC) meeting Ottawa in March to discuss best practices and success stories in providing support to ethnocultural offenders across Canada.

Woroch co-chairs the Regional Ethnocultural Advisory Committee (Pacific Region) with Sherman Chan, MOSAIC’s director of Family & Settlement Services.

NEAC provides advice to the Commissioner on how best to address needs of ethnocultural offenders in the institutions or in the community in order to achieve positive correctional results.

Offender employment was a key discussion topic at the March meeting as members shared recent success stories and new ideas for helping offenders find work in the community.
