ISSofBC Welcome Centre was selected by AMSSA (Affiliation of Multicultural Societies and Service Agencies of BC) to receive this year’s Riasat Ali Khan Diversity Award. The award “recognizes an AMSSA member organization for innovative programming that supports diversity and promotes integration.”

ISSofBC President Jim Tallman and CEO Patricia Woroch received the award at AMSSA’s annual general meeting held September 23rd. Family members of the late Riasat Ali Khan, in whose honour the award was created in 2005, attended the AMSSA awards ceremony, including son Haroon Khan.

“We are so pleased to receive this award,” said Woroch. “Riasat Ali Khan was a board member at ISSofBC for many years so this award is especially meaningful for us.”
